My laptop supports 1024x768 via the flat panel monitor. The most I've ever supported via external monitor is 1280x1024 (which works fine). I would guess that you need to get the drivers directly from Nvidia. I've found the default drivers Windows provides work fine until you need to do something a bit involved such as Photoshop CS4.

is 1200X800 the max resolution for your laptop? I have same tx2000 but same graphic card and it's windows 7. When I changed from vista, the resolution went down from 1280x760 to 1200x800.
